Single-seater racing is a type of motor sport where the driver is the only person who can be seated in the car, as opposed to regular two-seater or four-seater racing cars. There are many different forms of single-seater racing and they are quite different from each other. In this event, countries are pitted against each other and the winner becomes the World Champion.

Most of the drivers of single-seater cars started driving at an early age as Kart drivers. Karting uses smaller engines and machines that are just a little larger than the drivers. The champions of these series move on to bigger machines, and they test themselves in various competitions before they gain enough credentials to become a driver in a major single-seater racing event.
