Nascar Results

NASCAR is a very popular sport that is embraced by both fans and sponsors, and the number of NASCAR enthusiasts is constantly increasing every year. There are many different NASCAR schedules that provide information concerning the dates and venues of the upcoming racing events, so that fans will have more than enough time to make preparations to watch the events. For those who have somehow missed the events, but would like to know about the outcome of the race and its winners, NASCAR results are available at most NASCAR-related websites.

Even NASCAR fans who watched the races read the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup results, because the results include a lot of information and statistics that cannot be grasped by watching the actual racing. Fans can find out specific information such as the time taken by each driver to finish the race, lap times, disqualifications, overall standings and others.

There are some significant NASCAR results over the years that were brought about by changes made to the NASCAR rules and regulations. The 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, for example, was the first season in which the Chase rules were implemented. According to these rules, the top 10 drivers by the end of the 26th race of the season will be resetting their scores. At such, the teams will be differentiated only by about five points each, with the 1st placer having the highest points, and they will all compete in a 10-team playoff finals for the championship. During the same year, NEXTEL mobiles took over the sponsorship from Winston Cigarettes, and therefore, the series’ name was changed.

These changes significantly affected the first-ever 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup results. It was during the Aaron’s 499 in April of 2004 that a major controversy happened. One of the racecar drivers, Brian Vickers, crashed his car with only four more laps to go. Jeff Gordon was in the lead, but was about to be passed by Dale Earnhardt at the time the crash had happened. Gordon managed to keep his place under a caution, but this judgment was protested by many fans. Shortly after this, the green-white-checker flag was introduced to prevent similar controversies from happening again. According to the NASCAR results, Kurt Bursch eventually went on to win.

The 2006 NASCAR results were more straightforward. New cars such as the Ford’s Fusion and the Chevrolet Monte Carlo were introduced during this season, and many rookies and substitute drivers had taken over the popular racecar professionals who were either injured or retired. As the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL cup results show, Jimmie Johnson of the Chevrolet was the eventual winner of the championships.
