Nascar On Fox
NASCAR fans have probably watched NASCAR on Fox several hundred times, but for those who are not aware what this is all about, here’s some information about one of the most popular NASCAR TV series. The NASCAR on Fox is actually a television series being shown on Fox Sports and the Speed Channel. The two sports networks have been airing NASCAR races since the year 2001.
It all started on November of the year 1999 when a contract was made regarding the broadcasting rights to NASCAR. Beginning 2001, NASCAR on Fox broadcasted all the races within the first half of the racing season. And the second half was broadcasted by NBC/TBS, which is now TNT. This meant that NASCAR Fox would broadcast the second race at California Speedway until the last race before Pepsi 400 which was held at Daytona. NBC/TNT will then broadcast the NASCAR races from Chicagoland Speedway to the final race of the season at Ford 400 which was held at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
To make it fair for both television networks, Fox/FX and NBC/TNT alternated the coverage of the first and most famous race, the Daytona 500. One network would cover the Daytona 500 at the beginning of the season, while the other network would get the Pepsi 400 Daytona race in the middle of the season, usually in the month of July. This has been in effect from the year 2001 until 2006. Fox Sports NASCAR also covers the whole season of Craftsman Truck Series in their Speed sports channel. They bought the rights and contract to broadcast the Craftsman Truck Series from ESPN back in the year 2002.

In the year 2005, a new contract was created that took effect in 2007. With this contract, the NASCAR on Fox now broadcasts majority of the NASCAR races. They will broadcast Daytona 500 yearly as well as the next twelve races. At the same time, they get to air the Budweiser Shootout and two of the Craftsman Truck Series. TNT broadcasts six races of the Nextel Cup plus the Pepsi 400 at Daytona. ESPN and ABC have their own arrangement to air the last seventeen races of the Nextel Cup. Now, the Speed Channel will broadcast the Gatorade Duel races plus the Nextel All-Star Challenge and the remaining Craftsman Truck Series races. Take note that Speed is also owned by Fox.
NASCAR on Fox reporters are the famous sports presenters Chris Myers and Jeff Hammond. At the same time, the Fox Live Radio for NASCAR is being hosted by Mike Joy, Rick Allen, Darrell Waltrip, Larry McReynolds and Phil Parsons.
