Motor Racing Network

The Motor racing network or MRN is one among other radio broadcasting networks around the globe. The Motor racing network is in fact the official radio station of NASCAR. Judging by that, it’s pretty obvious that the Motor racing network covers all the three major NASCAR races such as the NASCAR Nextel Cup, the NASCAR Busch Series, and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Those minor NASCAR races that are not being covered by the MRN radio have their own motor racing network which is actually called Performance Racing Network or PRN. These minor networks are all under the Speedway Motorsports, Inc. On the other hand, the racing series Allstate 400 which is held at the Brickyard has their motor racing network radio too. Their broadcasting network is being controlled by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

You may wonder why the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series is still being covered by MRN even though some of the races are being held at the mentioned speedways had their own radio networks. Well, there was a policy back in the year 1995 that formed part of NASCAR’s agreement. NASCAR’s major race series are under a unified television and radio contract which means MRN radio broadcast will be used instead of the track’s radio network for such races.

Other series of NASCAR which are the Nextel Open and Nextel All-Star Challenge are both being broadcasted at MRN radio stations despite the fact that both of these races are held at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. This speedway is owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc. Even though they have their own radio network, the MRN stations have control over these two racing series. The MRN radio stations are in fact what they say as the voice of NASCAR.

MRN is indeed essential to the NASCAR fans out there. If you don’t have access to a television, just tune in and listen to MRN. Listen to MRN radio live while they cover your much awaited racing event! If you can’t tune in and listen to MRN radio, search for MRN radio affiliates. There are MRN affiliates that provide coverage of the NASCAR in probably most cities so find out by searching it online. Yes, there are now online MRN radio stations you can go to and listen to NASCAR coverage! It’s just like listening to live MRN radio!
